the most powerful marketing tool

A juicy story I couldn’t wait to tell, news of my latest launch, tips for upleveling your brand…. These are all things I’ve shared with you with emails and posts just like this one.

Email might seem like it’s *SO* 2007, but it still is the most powerful marketing tool there is. Hands down.

Here are some facts, if you don't believe me....

  • According to the data, 81% of small businesses still rely on email as their primary customer acquisition channel, and 80% for retention (Emarsys, 2018).

  • For every $1 you spend on email marketing, you can expect an average return of $42 (DMA, 2019).

  • Sending three abandoned cart emails results in 69% more orders than a single email (Omnisend, 2018). This type of ecommerce email is one of the most effective for boosting revenue.

  • When looking at the frequency with which consumers would like to receive brand emails, 49% (Statista, 2017) of consumers said that they would like to receive promotional emails from their favorite brands on a weekly basis.

When you communicate with your audience via email, you’re reminding them who you are and what value you can bring to them.

After all, you can’t guarantee that they’ll check social media the day of your exciting launch, but most people do check their email at least once a day. (And some of us have our email open constantly, but that’s a topic for another day…)

AND we don’t know when the Instagram or Facebook gods will -poof- be gone or say you can’t play in their sandox anymore.

So how do you get people on your email list?

Value, value, VALUE. GIVE! GIVE! GIVE!

Whether it be a PDF worksheet, a video series or a quiz (we love our quiz), the best way to get people on your list is to offer them FREE value.

A free offer (in exchange for an email opt-in) is the best way for your audience to see what you’re all about, and get a sneak preview of what you can offer them.

It’s not about working for free, or giving away your expertise for free. It’s about letting something free work for YOU, and help cultivate your audience. That’s priceless.

So what’s one free resource you’ve recently signed up for? Was it worth it? What did you like about it? Comment below and let me know! I’d love to get the conversation started on what value add works best for you and your brand.

See you in the next post! *wink, wink*

P.S. I know I’ve teased it for the past few’re hearing it first. The Brand Glow Up party is coming back, this time in a funky fresh Spring edition! More details coming soon, so keep an eye out!
