Can we get over imposter syndrome, please??
It’s probably one of the hardest things to do when you’re getting more visible - getting out there, doing your thing, right? I speak from personal experience. I’ve had all of the negative voice chatter, that I know all of your experience, too: People have more experience than you. They can do it better than you. They have prettier hair, whatever the case may be. The truth is, you know what you know because you know it. You think everybody else knows what you know, and that is not the case at all!
I like to give the example of my accountant. Numbers are not my strong suit. I have no desire to do my taxes, my finances. But he probably doesn’t know how to build a successful brand. But does that mean he’s an imposter? Just because he knows balance sheets just like the next guy? I chose to work with him, though, because I know, like, and trust him.
It’s often the ones that are very good at what they do that question themselves the most.
It’s the question mark above our head that wants us to continue to get better at what we do and strive to do good work!
You have so much to offer, so much knowledge to give, and the fact that you’re holding that back is no good. Stop comparing. Stop copying. Stop thinking you’re less than who you are, and start sharing your message.
Get out there. Start doing it!
