Doing Nothing Isn’t Lazy — It’s Strategic

Last weekend, I did something radical.
Nothing.
No plans. No phone. Just me, coffee, and my couch in a very committed relationship. ☕
And somehow… the world kept spinning.
Here’s the surprise: rest is rocket fuel.
Every time I step away properly, I come back sharper. More ideas. Less resentment toward my laptop. Better decisions all round. Hustling harder has never given me that.
If you’re exhausted trying to “stay consistent,” try this instead:
1. Unplug on purpose
Creative ideas don’t thrive in noise. Quiet gives them room to show up.
2. Let the algorithm chill
Your audience won’t forget you because you rested. That’s fear talking, not facts.
3. Post from overflow
Create when you actually have something to say — not when you’re guilt-scrolling and forcing it.
And this isn’t just vibes.
Harvard Business Review reports that strategic rest can increase creativity by up to 50%.
So yes — sometimes doing nothing is business development.
XO,
Jessica
